A few minutes of prep makes machinery transport faster and safer. Here's how to get your plant ready before the truck arrives.
Why Preparation Matters
Machinery that's ready to load saves time, reduces risk and protects both the machine and the truck. Most loading delays and near-misses come down to gear that wasn't prepped — loose attachments, locked controls or unknown weights.
Before The Truck Arrives
Run through this checklist for any machine being transported:
- Know the weight and dimensions — height matters most for clearances
- Secure or remove attachments — buckets, augers and grabs
- Lower booms, blades and arms to their travel position
- Clean off loose mud and debris that could fall in transit
- Note any faults — does it start, steer or brake? Tell the driver
- Have the keys and a clear loading area ready
If The Machine Won't Run
A dead or seized machine isn't a problem — our Super Tilt trailers use dual winches to load machinery that can't be driven on. But the driver needs to know in advance so they bring the right rigging and plan the load. Always flag a non-runner when you book.
